let's figure out the database scheme. this issue is for discussion and will result in the wiki page for future reference.

here's the various components and considerations:

  • Actors
    • Account customization (Display names, bios, profile pictures, banners, fields, badges, etc)
    • Follow relations
    • Permissions/role
    • 2FA
    • Drive-like functionality (simple directory structure with media)
    • Default FE settings blobs
  • Media
    • Attachments, emoji, customization elements
  • Posts
    • Formatting
    • Scopes
    • Relationships/tags?
    • Boosts/favorites/reactions
    • Attachments
  • Roles
    • Permissions: posting, post scopes (public, unlisted, locked, DM, local), uploading media, uploading emojis, moderation abilities
